Diving With a Purpose and Development Group

Diving with a Purpose (DWP) is a leading international organization that provides education and training programs, mission leadership, and project support services for submerged heritage preservation and conservation projects worldwide with a focus on the African Diaspora. DWP CARES is committed to providing a foundation for participants to be able to identify key coral reef species, communicating to the public the effect of climate change on our coastal and reef ecosystems, facilitating and communicating findings (data) from reef monitoring surveys and developing participants as leaders in conservation.

Diving with a Purpose (DWP) is a community-focused nonprofit organization dedicated to the conservation and protection of submerged heritage resources by providing education, training, certification and field experience to adults and youth in the fields of maritime archaeology and ocean conservation. YDWP participates gather at Biscayne National Park and learn underwater archaeology with DWP instructors, following the program listed above for DWP. They also look for ways to challenge interest and broaden knowledge related to the vast aquatic environment.

DWP dedicated a memorial to the Tuskegee Airmen of WWII to memorialize five pilots who perished in accidents in the Port Huron, Michigan area August 28th, 2021
