Ca department of social services:the dhf continued to work with youth in fresno, tulare, and kern counties with non partisan civic engagement activities while strengthening the skills and capacity of the youth. Youth provided testimony at school board meetings to advocate for increased resources for their priorities through the local control accountability plan (lcap). Forty of the lcap recommendations were adopted including funding for cultrural competency & restorative justice. Dhf strengthened the liberated youth for empowerment (lyfe) program & the three pathways: civic engagement, transformative arts, and new media & technology the youth program hosted 85 sessions and events throughout the year. Dhf provided support to students & families in career and college readiness and engaged 675 vecinos & youth in education programming.
The California endowment:dhf continued to work with its 12 vecinos unidos (neighbors united) chapters in kern, tulare, fresno, & los angeles counties. Dhf engaged community members in the redistricting process and provided non-partisan voter outreach & education in the mid-term elections reaching over 18,000 voters.
National network of public health institutes:dhf co-hosted 149 community based vaccination clinics and has administred 10,145 covid vaccinations since 2021. Dhf's health team directly reached over 70,000 individuals in door to door canvassing and outreach to assist with vaccination appointments, provide referrals to resources, and distribute masks & ppe in the most impacted communities.
