Donald L Heiter Community Center

The Center primarily offers programs for youth during non-school hours, including after school activities and summer day camp. After school activities include tutoring at-risk youth and summer day camp include various activites at the Center and educational field trips. During the year the Center granted youth program scholarships to children of needy families valued at 16,900. Scholarship grants given for after school programs totaled 8,500 for 28 children and summer day camp grants totaled 8,400 for 12 children. Management estimates that 47% of the children participating in youth programs do not pay for these services. During the year over 2,164 volunteers hours were posted by 165 volunteers serving these programs.
