Program areas at DownCity Design
Downcity Design provided free in-school, after school, and summer Design education programs for over 250 youth in 2022/2023. Our programs helped students connect to one another, to caring adults, and to meaningful service work. Students designed and fabricated 6 new amenities for community clients including youth pride ri, refugee dream center, sackett street recreation center, black beans, audubon society of ri, and Downcity Design's new community Design center! Through a successful capital campaign effort, renovations are underway on Downcity Design's new community center to open in 2024! Our programs help to develop students' critical thinking, creative problem solving, and steam skills, crucial skills for success in school and in life beyond.
