Program areas at Dream City
Our Youth Leadership Academy is broken into two sectors (summer and after school). Our Summer program provided mentoring, academic, and personal enrichment activities to 100+ youth in the summer, ages 10-17. The program was 4 days a week for 6 weeks throughout the summer. Our RISE After School Youth Leadership Program provided quality after-school programming consisting of weekly goal setting, academic supports, service projects, mentoring and group discussions focused on character, leadership, and building community connections. This program served 60+ youth ages 9-17 5 days a week. This program was funded by Johnson County Board of Supervisors Juvenile Justice Youth Development Fund.
This line item consist of expenses and revenue from the general fund that support all Dream City programs.
Our Fathers United Now program is a community-based support group that provides fathers with opportunities to develop fathering skills, build and maintain strong family ties, and helps fathers build healthy relationships with their children and/or mother of children. This program met weekly over a 48 week period serving 40 men. This program was funded by a Community Based Child Abuse Prevention grant and the Johnson County Decaterization fund.
Provide entrepreneurial empowerment, development and connection through organizing a consistent space to incubate new and established businesses while providing more awareness to existing businesses and amenities
We also launched a lawn care program that provided jobs to youth within our communities.
Our performing arts academy provided a summer workshop that brought in a few individual contributions.
