Program areas at Dreamers Academy
In 2024, our organization made significant strides in advancing community engagement and educational excellence. Our new, state-of-the-art campus in newtown, sarasota, serves as a vibrant learning and community development hub, providing an ideal environment for our programs. We hosted several impactful events, including the ptc fall festival and the storybook literacy parade, which celebrated literacy and brought together families, educators, and local residents. Additionally, our educator, josette ortega, was honored as the 2024 sarasota county schools innovative teacher of the year, a testament to our organization's high quality of instruction and commitment to innovation. We also partnered with the patterson foundation to host dreamarte remake learning days, a dynamic event that showcased the intersection of creativity and learning. Through the familia connect initiative, we provided valuable workshops for families, building stronger connections with community partners and offering family library nights to promote reading and literacy. Our literacy week celebration further underscored our dedication to fostering a love of learning within the community. These efforts have served hundreds of families and children and contributed to a broader cultural shift towards greater educational opportunity and community collaboration. While some of our achievements are measurable, the long-term impact of these initiatives--such as strengthened community ties, increased family engagement, and enhanced educational outcomes--remains immeasurable but deeply felt across sarasota.
