Program areas at Dress for Success Oklahoma City
DFS provides professional clothing, education, and training to disadvantaged women in the Oklahoma City area. During 2023, over 300 women were served in the various programs. Almost 70% of these women have children and 52% are single mothers. Over 90 women served were previously incarcerated.
Professional Womens Group (PWG) - Specific expenses relating to the international networking association for employed Dress for Success women. Costs include monthly seminars designed for career advancement and personal growth. PWG also provides scholarships to deserving members and a program called SheWorks for women who have graduated through all offered programs, and are financially stable and ready to start their own business. The SheWorks program provides use of DFS office space and amenities, mentoring and start-up funding.
Suiting Program - Specific expenses associated with preparing clients for the interview process. The primary costs are interview clothing and sccessories, but also include costs to provide resume assistance and mock interviews. Once employment is secured, additional apparel and accessories are provided to assist the client in entering the workforce. Suiting is also provided for internships and job training. There were 180 interview suitings and 90 employment suitings in 2023.
Career Center Program - Specific expenses associated with providing groups and individuals with the tools they need to gain skills needed to enter the workforce and further their careers. Clients are provided access to computers, printers, and Wi-Fi. Services include resume building and cover letter assistance, one-on-one mock interviews, job application and job search assistance, goal setting and career planning. Employment readiness boot camps are available to groups. The Career Center served approx. 120 women and this program provided the opportunity to suit over 25 women during 2023.
