Drums in Recovery fosters interpersonal skills in youth and adults recovering from struggles such as grief, abuse, addictions, post-traumatic stress, and memory loss through an educational program called Drumbeat. Grant awarded from the orange county government citizens' commission for children to provide community - based arts programming in five different sectors (zip codes). . Across ten different facilities, over 1,790 children were served through 293 sessions of the drumbeat program. 17 graduations were held which showcased the skills and virtues learned by those students. . This rehabilitation program, called drumbeat, is a ten-week music and wellness course utilizing hand-drumming.
