Dubuque Area Convention and Visitors Bureau

With over 2 million visitors and $379.31 million in economic impact annually, the tourism industry has been recognized as an integral component in the development and continued prosperity of the Dubuque region. The reinvention of Iowa's first city over the years has been a catalyst for the evolution of the Dubuque area as a destination for travel. This same evolution has allowed new opportunities, new partnerships, and new growth. With growth, comes change. In July of 2013, the Dubuque Area Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) began as its own organization; operating as a destination marketing organization whose sole focus is providing and advocating for a strengthened tourism infrastructure for both visitors and partners.The Dubuque Area Convention and Visitors Bureau actively engages the general public to visit, explore, and spend the night in our community at a hotel/motel so that we can continue to enhance the individual's experience. Through this process we generate hotel/motel tax which allows our community to continue the process of generating money to further the promotion of our community to visitors and continue the process of growing our community through the improvements made to our streets, parks, and overall city amenities for our citizens.
