Program areas at Dyslexia Alliance for Black Children
Family and school programs - the Dyslexia Alliance for Black Children (dabc) provides free literacy and Dyslexia workshops, parent-to-parent coaching and supplemnetal educational support to families. In 2023, dabc served 1,065 families through workshops and coached five families. Families also have access to asynchronous learning on-demand learning. Dabc also provided high dosage reading intervention to 28 students in the bronx and mount vernon. Dabc partners with schools and community based organizations to deliver workshops to families.
Educator workshops and conferences - the Dyslexia Alliance for Black Children worked with twenty five school schools and community based organization to deliver workshops to 145 educators and partnered with 17 organization to deliver workshops and presentations to more than 7,000 educators. Our annual conference served 268 educators and advocates.
