Program areas at Eastern States Veterinary Association
NAVC's program activities consist primarily of educational activities which provide training opportunities to develop the knowledge and capabilities of individuals involved in the veterinary healthcare community. The educational opportunities provided by NAVC train participants in the most up-to-date treatment and care methodologies, which allow these participants to provide a higher quality of care for animals. The Organization presents an annual educational conference, Veterinary Meeting & Expo (VMX), to veterinary professionals and others which offers advanced learning opportunities, innovations, and meaningful connections to participants. The 2023 VMX had over 27,000 attendees for its five-day conference both in-person in Orlando, Florida, and virtually around the globe. Attendees received world-class continuing education through interactive symposia, hands-on labs, lectures, and exhibitor booths. The education at VMX allows attendees to provide a higher quality of animal care and provides necessary continuing education credits to allow veterinary professionals to meet state-mandated education and licensing requirements. NAVC also provides students and others with financial need discounted/free admissions to attend its conference and other training activities to provide greater educational opportunities to those individuals who might otherwise be unable to attend. In connection with the NAVC Conference, the Organization received approximately $278,600 of free use of medical equipment. In 2023, NAVC also offered an online product, VMX Virtual. This allowed attendees to experience VMX virtually that otherwise wouldn't be able to attend, and also gave exhibitors the opportunity to showcase their booths virtually to this audience. VMX Virtual offers both live interactive sessions as well as OnDemand content that is consumed when it is convenient for the learner.
In 2021, NAVC created a new segment of business- Virtual XP. This brand encompasses our new fully acquired online learning platform- VetFolio. Products offered include: Vet2Vet (which is a video learning series that provides industry insights through conversations with Veterinarians); live webinars and Level Up summits; certificate programs (non-renewing educational programs); and Spark! VetFolio is an online learning resource that includes 100's of hours of onDemand learning content as well as articles, podcasts and different types of CE courses. In addition to the VMX event mentioned above, NAVC provides additional educational and training opportunities to develop the knowledge and skill of individuals in the veterinary healthcare community through the NAVC Institute and other similar events. The NAVC Institute is an annual multi-day educational program offered to veterinary professionals. Traditionally, the NAVC Institute has over 250 registrants for its eight veterinary continuing education courses over a span of five days. These courses elevated the attendees' knowledge and skill in a particular field of study through the use of classroom lectures, hands-on labs, and group discussions with course leaders. The education at the Institute allows attendees to provide a higher quality of animal care and provides necessary continuing education credits to allow veterinary professionals to meet state-mandated education and licensing requirements.
HIVE was established in fiscal year 2023 with the initiative to expand NAVC's footprint by providing nationwide popup events focused on specific topics related to veterinary care and the veterinary industry. Since this is a brand new segment of NAVC's business, fiscal year 2023 was dedicated to strategy and planning, and therefore, no events occurred.
