Program areas at Easy Lift Transportation

As the designated consolidated transportation service agency for South Santa Barbara County, Easy Lift addresses transportation needs by vulnerable niches of our community ranging from the elderly and disabled to impoverished children to homeless veterans. The Dial-a-ride program is Easy Lift's largest current service. Individuals require our paratransit services to visit medical and other service centers essential to their physical and mental health, shop, and visit with family. Of the 3,400 current passengers, 70% report low income, approximately 38% use mobility devices, and 70% are elderly. Our transportation services also include a variety of specialized transportation shuttles for children, charitable events, community services, as well as act as an emergency resource for the county and municipalities during disasters. Our transportation service also includes the CAT program for Children. Easy Lift found transportation was lacking for underprivileged children to access life betterment programs and now dedicates one full time vehicle for CAT, at no charge to the family or the youth agencies with whom we collaborate. 100% of the unduplicated children served are from low income homes, transitional housing, or shelters, and use CAT to reach school, after-school programs, counseling, camps, and other group activities which foster a promising future.
