Program areas at Ecmc Foundation
On behalf of the hospital ("Ecmc"), the Ecmc Foundation raised, held, and administered funds that were invested into achieving the highest quality of healthcare and trauma care for patients, regardless of their race, gender, ethnicity, income, or insurance status. Such funds were utilized for free healthcare programs, wellness seminars, and community outreach programs in the city of buffalo and western new york. Ecmc Foundation's mobile mammography coach is an example of a healthcare/educational/wellness program for women that has benefited from the financial resources that have been raised by Ecmc Foundation. The mobile screening program travels to off-site locations and offers free walk-on screenings for women, regardless of their insurance status, in addition to breast health education. Ecmc Foundation's summer youth healthcare internship program is another example of how funds raised by Ecmc Foundation have contributed to improving health care education for young citizens. The internship allows high school students to explore careers in medical fields and the health sciences while receiving mentoring by healthcare professionals in a hospital setting. Each year the summer youth program has 120 youth participants. Ecmc Foundation's funds have also contributed to advancements that have been made in hospital staff training programs and employee education seminars. Ecmc Foundation periodically provides financial and adminstrative support for capital improvements at Ecmc, including innovations in technology, medical equipment, and safety for hospital patients and employees. Ecmc Foundation's ability to administer donor requests and/or hospital needs has helped Ecmc become one of the leading public hospitals in the city of buffalo and western new york community.
