Program areas at EcoAdapt
Awareness to action (a2a): making adaptation happen. Building capacity and bringing our partners from awareness to action are central to Ecoadapt's mission. Our adaptation experts have pioneered a series of innovative and interactive processes to bring those engaged in the early stages of climate change adaptation from awareness to implementation. The underlying goals of awareness to action processes are to strengthen the ability of people working on the ground to respond to climate change.
Climate adaptation knowledge exchange (cake): your online adaptation destination. Cake is an innovative community resource for people working to manage the natural environment in the face of climate change. The cake website includes case studies of on-the-ground adaptation efforts, a library of useful resources to support adaptation action, a community forum with an expert advice column, a directory of individuals and organizations rich in adaptation knowledge, and a tools section full of useful online resources to help make adaptation happen.
National adaptation forum (naf): action today for a better tomorrow. The national adaptation forum is a gathering of the adaptation minded. Since the forum is created by and for the members of the adaptation community, the meeting focuses on the established and emerging issues of the day. The national adaptation forum convenes the adaptation community from around the country and the world to foster knowledge exchange, innovation and mutual support for a better tomorrow. It includes opportunities for professional development through formal training, facilitated practitioner presentations and informal peer networking.
State of adaptation (sofa): building the foundation while climate change adaptation is developing as a field, many managers are already dealing with the reality of climate change in their daily work. Our state of adaptation program is a research initiative designed to facilitate adaptation action by surveying practitioners, assessing adaptation activities, writing in-depth case studies to catalyze creative thinking, and synthesizing information collected to further develop the field of study and action.
