Program areas at Ed Murphey Classic
Hosted annual Ed Murphey Classic race with a 178% increase in youth participation over 2022.
Other outreach- provided branded team tents for local schools that cannot afford them, and hosted the first ever shelby county metro track and field camp, in addition to supporting a number of other local events.
The Ed Murphey track club provides free coaching, uniforms/shirts/footwear, drinks and snacks, competitive registration, and opportunities for mentorship form coaches and guest professional athletes. Practice sites are located in low income areas to facilitate access by removing transportation barriers.
