Program areas at Eden Prairie Chamber of Commerce
Networking - networking continues to be a primary benefit for many of our smaller and mid-size members. In 2023 the Chamber, continued to see strong interest in our women's network programs. We also started building out monthly opportunities for our emerging leaders/young professionals. In addition, the Chamber added a burger battle month long friendly competition amongst local restaurants that had diners vote on the burgers entered into the competition.
Community building - in 2023, the Chamber continued to publish our directory and community guide into one publication. This publication is being distributed through direct mail, Chamber events, hotels, the city offices and at our school districts welcome center. The Chamber continues its efforts in building a strong community including giving out another $3,000 in scholarships to help further the education of two local students. We also continued to have our future leaders/student membership program with high school seniors learning valuable business skills. As the first Chamber in the nation to offer this unique opportunity for students, our program has helped young entrepreneurs and business people learn how to network, engage, do business, and even dress properly in the "real world."
Public policy - the Chamber advocates on behalf of its business members on local, county, state and federal issues. In 2023, we were very active with meeting with elected officials and sharing our businesses concerns and issues with them particularly the impact of new laws, regulations and taxes passed in 2022 that are impacting our businesses.
