TREATING PEOPLE WITH TRAUMA INSIDE MYANMAR IS COUNTERPRODUCTIVE AND DANGEROUS; PATIENTS NEED A MEASURE OF SAFETY TO BEING THE RECOVERY PROCESS.BEAM PURCHASED LAND IN MAE SOT, THAILAND ON THE THAILAND/MYANMAR BORDER IN JUNE 2022 AND STARTED CONSTRUCTION ON AN IN-PERSON TREATMENT FACILITY. OUR CLINICAL TEAM,LED BY A MYANMAR PSYCHOLOGIST, WILL BEGIN TREATING YOUNG MYANMAR TRAUMA PATIENTS IN THE FALL OF 2023.

ON THE EDUCATION FRONT, DIGITAL CONTENT ( COMPUTER TRAINING, TEACHER TRAINING, LANGUAGE COURSES, GED CLASSES, CHILDRENS SPECIAL COURSES) IS PREPARED IN CHIANG MAI AND FED INTO BURMA, USING SOCIAL MEDIA TECHNOLOGIES IN ORDER TO GET AROUND THE MILITARYS INFORMATION BLACKOUT EFFORTS.
EBTM/BEAM Myanmar/Thailand Project:Beam MyanmarTHE MILITARY VIOLENCE INCREASED IN 2022 FOLLOWING THE 2021 COUP. BEAM MYANMAR CONTINUED TO SUPPLY EMERGENCY FOOD AND MEDICAL SUPPLIES IN THE JUNGLE AREAS ALONG THE THAI/MYANMAR BORDER TO THOSE MOST IMPACTED. THE EDUCATION SYSTEM IN MYANMAR HAS ALSO BEEN BROKEN BY THE COUP. OUR EDUCATION REVOLUTION PROJECT CONTINUES, FOCUSING ON STUDENTS AND TEACHERS BOYCOTTING THE MILITARY CONTROLLED SCHOOLS AND PROMOTING EQUAL RIGHTS FOR ALL, RESPECT FOR THE DIFFERENT ETHNIC AND RELIGIOUS GROUPS, AND PROMOTION OF DEMOCRATIC VALUES.
