Educurious is a seattle, wa-based 501(c)(3) organization which originated with a grant from the bill & melinda gates foundation in partnership with the university of Washington. Educurious designs and delivers authentic project-based learning (pbl) curriculum and learning experiences for young people and professional development opportunities for educators. Their design principles are grounded in the science of learning-understanding how and why people learn. Their approach engages and inspires students to acquire deep content knowledge while developing the skills and dispositions to succeed in school, work, and life. Educurious curriculum and professional development opportunities are delivered digitally, in-person, and virtually in the united states and u.s. Territories. Educurious also designs and offers a wide array of open education resources (oer) which are freely available online through sprocket, a platform originally developed by lucas education research. Educurious has directly impacted over 48k educators and 346k students across 32 states, puerto rico, and the u.s. virgin islands.other accomplishments include:-expanded work in Washington state to co-develop curriculum units for students in kindergarten and 12th grade.-collaborated with denver public schools to co-design standards-aligned social studies pbl curriculum in grades 6-12. -created renewable energy vehicle and infrastructure technician training (revit) program for high-schoolers pursuing dual-credit pathways. This curriculum integrates science with career and technical education to prepare students for careers in renewable energy.-in partnership with the department of elementary and secondary education (dese) facilitated statewide professional development for elementary educators in Massachusetts.
