The Edward Foundation follows the mission of Northshore - Edward-Elmhurst Health to help everyone in our communities be their best. The Foundation funded the Care Center, which diagnoses, treats and documents sexual abuse cases in children. The Care Center is the only one of its kind in the region and serves nine counties. The Foundation also established the Linden Oaks Fund that enhances behavioral health care through diagnostic testing, treatment, and support programs while educating patients and the community on prevention. Program areas at Edward Foundation

The Foundation linden oaks fund - a fund that assists in enhancing behavioral health care in the community. By facilitating diagnostic testing, treatment and support programs. Also providing education to patients and the community around the prevention, detection and treatment of behavioral health disorders. The funding also brings resources to behavioral health patients, their loved ones, and caregivers to assist the recovery process. In addition, the fund helps provide staff continuing eduction and training. For the development and implementation of new behavioral health projects.
Cardiology fund - donors have an opportunity to help fund diagnostic testing, equipment, treatment and support programs related to cardiology. This fund also facilitates the education of patients and the community around the prevention, detection and treatment of cardiac disease. It brings resources to cardiology patients, their loved ones and caregivers to assist the recovery process. Also provides cardiology staff continuing education and training for the development and implementation of new projects.
The ob/gynecology fund - this fund assists, through the cradle club program, in honoring a child's birth. The funds provide assistance with state-of-the art technology and equipment. To support women and children services in the community. As well as provide education and support services around the birthing journey.
Other activities related to receiving donations and distributing funds in accordance with donor intent in support of 501(c)(3) health care organizations that are affiliated with edward-elmhurst healthcare.
The Foundation funded the Care Center - a clinic for the diagnosis, treatment and legal documentation of sexually abused children. The Care Center is the only center of its kind in the region, serving nine counties. The Care Center is committed to treating victims of sexual assault and stopping the cycle of abuse. Its purpose is threefold: restore a sense of dignity and well-being to the child, identify, investigate and treat any medical sign or symptom, and document findings and collect evidence that may be significant for legal proceedings and the prosecution of sexual predators. Its success is attributed to a unique combination of evidence-based and current medical treatment that is provided with the utmost compassion and sensitivity. The Care Center works with social service agencies as part of a continuum of care. The team also works with state's Attorneys' offices to assist in the successful prosecution of sexual predators. The Care Center's education and training services have become an invaluable resource to state agencies, social service organizations, schools and other hospitals. The Care Centers budgets service for 105 patients each year.
