Description
Eighth Day Farm educates people on healthy food and improves access to fresh produce. The farm served 119+ families with 100% locally grown, non GMO, organic vegetables for 22 weeks and redirected compostable materials towards creating soil for urban farm sites. They also supported four interns within their farm internship program and partnered with Escape Ministries and Urban Youth Growers to bring 8 to 10 kids twice a week to the farm throughout the summer.

Program areas at Eighth Day Farm

Served 115 families through our community supported agriculture program, created a program to get veggies to 10 community members who also have snap benefits. We also created over 90,000 pounds of compostable food waste from landfills towards the creation of compost to our Farm and local gardeners.
Donated over 15,584 in vegetables grown on our Farm to local food pantries.
Redesigned our internship program to benefit four college-aged interns. Interns learned valuable growing/distribution skills and gained non-profit experience.
