Program areas at Elder Network
With the support of staff, volunteers and donors, Elder Network provides direct client services such as senior advocacy, companion services, friendly visitor, non-medical transportation, medical transportation, caregiver respite, caregiver coaching, support groups, education, pearls, technology assistance program, and others. Elder Network provided services in dodge, olmsted, wabasha, and winona counties in 2023. Elder Network staff and volunteers provided over 26,500 hours of direct care to older adults and their caregivers. Senior advocates helped over 500 individuals with 3,354 contacts for housing assistance, medicare assistance, and numerous other programs and services to those older adults and caregivers in need of advocacy. Caregivers received over 9,127.5 hours of direct respite and companion care throughout 2023. Staff scheduled 2,602 rides, and volunteers provided over 2,075 rides to medical and non-medical appointments in olmsted county. Elder Network has helped older adults and those who care for them to maintain their health and independence-helping them have the opportunity to thrive and lead rewarding lives.
