Adult day services: for 47 years, Elderhouse adult day center has provided a social and medical day program for older adults who have cognitive and or other health issues that require personal assistance and monitoring. We provide door-to-door transportation to and from Elderhouse where they benefit from: daily medical monitoring by a staff nurse; personal care by certified health aides; therapeutic recreation, musical programs, and memory enhancement activities; as well as social and community engagement. In turn, family caregivers benefit from hours of reliable respite, caregiver counseling and group support. The combination of a highly effective care environment for seniors and respite for caregivers leads to a higher quality of life for both. Meals and support at home: if someone is unable to attend, Elderhouse can send meals and offer support until they are able to return to elderhouse.elderhouse has three important objectives: (1) to enable older adults to stay in their homes, healthier and longer(2) to reduce the rate of emergency room visits and hospital readmissions (3) to increase the opportunity for older adults to engage in meaningful social engagement, learn new things and continue to enjoy life.
Adult day at home: home delivered meals and supportfirst began during the pandemic but remains available to those unable to attend in person daycare. Meal delivery combined with daily phone contact offers isolated qualified older adults, two nutritionally balanced meals plus a wellness call each day. The meals meet all usda guidelines, accommodate dietary restrictions and are delivered free of cost. This program continues today achieving success in fostering better health outcomes and reducing stress for caregivers.
Adult family livingto serve the growing number of individuals taking on the role of caregiving in their own home, Elderhouse is an accredited provider of adult family living services.
