Adult day services: for 4 decades, Elderhouse adult day center has partnered with families to provide exceptional care to older frail adults in a respectful environment. Older adults are provided door-to-door transportation to and from Elderhouse where they benefit from: daily medical monitoring by a staff nurse; personal care by certified health aides; therapeutic recreation, musical programs, and memory enhancement activities; as well as social and community engagement. In turn, family caregivers benefit from hours of reliable respite, caregiver counseling and group support. The combination of a highly effective care environment for seniors and respite for caregivers, leads to a higher quality of life for both. Year after year, Elderhouse has accomplished 3 major objectives: (1) to keep frail older adults living in their homes, healthier and longer, (2) to reduce the rate of emergency room visits and hospital readmissions, and (3) to increase the opportunity for frail older adults to partake in meaningful social engagement.
In response to the covid-19 pandemic that resulted in increased isolation for elderly seniors, Elderhouse began a home delivered meal program. Meal delivery combined with daily phone contact offers isolated elders two nutritionally balanced meals plus a wellness call each day. The meals meet all usda guidelines, accommodate seniors with dietary restrictions and are delivered free of cost. This program continues today achieving success in fostering better health outcomes for seniors and plays a key role in reducing stress for caregivers.
Adult family living services: Elderhouse has provided support to caregivers for more than 40 years. We recognize that loving care starts in the home and is essential to the well-being of older seniors. To serve the growing number of individuals taking on the role of caregiving in their own home, Elderhouse is an accredited provider of adult family living services. The adult family living program offers guidance and financial support to caregivers, helping them to succeed in providing the best care possible. Caregivers receive expert advice on managing daily tasks and a monthly tax-free stipend. This monthly payment affords caregivers the opportunity to be awarded for the care and assistance they give to seniors.
