Artists' videotape distributioneai's artists' media distribution service is a leading national resource for video art and digital media by artists. Eai distributes a major collection of experimental media artworks to cultural, Arts, and educational audiences across the nation and around the world. Eai provides access to over 4,000 new and historical media works by over 200 emerging and established artists, from the 1960s to the present. The eai media art collection is recognized as a significant artistic and cultural resource. This program reaches wide audiences and diverse constituents at universities, museums, libraries, and other venues across the united states and around the world. Eai also furthers public engagement with media art through extensive online resources, viewing access, preservation, and educational initiatives.
Public programseai's public programs, which include artists' talks, panels, screenings, and multi-media performances, provide a dynamic forum for engagement with audiences. These programs further public understanding of media art, and provide an educational framework for eai's distribution collection and archives.
Editing and postproductioneai provides technical resources and facilities for artists and Arts organizations. The ongoing digital conversion and storage of eai's media collection facilitates our distribution, preservation and access efforts. Our in-house technical facilities include digital betacam, dvcam, betacam sp, hdv,minidv and u-matic equipment. Our digital facilities include workstations for capturing 10-bit uncompressed files and creating h.264 streaming files, final cut pro studio 2 editing systems, xserve streaming server, a nas storage system and aws cloud storage backup.
