Elephant Circle

Education, outreach, and organizing - we provide education and outreach to expand perspective, challenge limits, incite action, address inequities, and increase collective capacity for birth justice. Our lectures, writings, workshops, and webinars provide venues to educate and organize community members to more effectively join in our pursuit of reproductive justice. Topics include (but are not limited to) legal rights during childbirth, gender inclusivity 101, midwifery in the us, the medical- industrial complex, and designing for equity. These educational and outreach efforts are foundational to and intertwined with our organizing for birth justice.

Elephant Circle also assists with the formation of new programs/projects/organizations in whatever creative ways they envision. We are involved in national efforts to address 1) the inequitable maternal and infant mortality crises in this us, 2) the harm and mistreatment experienced by many folks who birth in the us, especially those who are black, indigenous, poc, or lgbtquoia+, 3) equitable integration of the services provided by community midwives and other birthworkers, 4) legal services, and 5) fiscal sponsorship. ----- see schedule o for information on the sponsored organizations -----
