The organization's primary event is the North Carolina Potato Festival. The event promotes awareness of one of the region's most important crops as well as the convergence of approximately 30,000 people at Elizabeth City's downtown business district.
The organization sponsors an outdoor film festival and live concert series. Classic movies are shown on Tuesday evenings during the months of June and July and live bands perform during the months of August and September. The events are free and open to the public and draw many residents and visitors to the downtown Elizabeth City area.
