Program areas at Elk County Council on Aging
Transportation - transportation is provided for all Elk County citizens for shopping, medical and personal needs. Public donations and fees for trips support this program. We provided 358 trips with 786 stops for 74 people. There is very limited medical and shopping available in the County.
Senior centers - we provide minimal support for 5 senior centers. Four centers have noon meals five days a week. Funding is provided through County mill levy. Centers are used for meals, socialization, excercise groups, and are a focal point in each community. We do not keep a tally on the number served as our funding assists with utility costs.
Administration - costs are not all covered by grants for various programs. Mill levy covers some costs that are not reimbursed by grant programs that we adminster.
In home services - served 15 people with 6710 hours of housekeeping and bathing assistance provided personal items to seniors enabling them to remain in their homes, funding through local, federal and state grants, other donations and fees.
