Program areas at Emerald City Pet Rescue
In 2017, we rescued 710 animals, principally small dogs, and 569 animals were adopted. All rescued animals were spayed/neutered and given appropriate medical care and innoculations before adoption.
In 2017, ECPR began an equine rescue program. It has rescued, and now safely boards, 36 horses. As with all animals in our care, the horses receive appropriate veterinary attention.
The primary focus of ecpr is to find safe, loving homes for unwanted, neglected and/or abused animals. We Rescue and care for animals that are in shelters and that will be euthanized unless rescued. We safely shelter them in 3 facilities without the threat of euthanization until adoptive parents are found. All rescued animals are spayed/neutered and given appropriate medical and dental care and inoculations before adoption.
To maintain appropriate care for the animals, ecpr maintains a veterinary clinic for our animals. This immediate access to care improves the quality of live for our animals.
Ecpr maintains an animal sanctuary on vashon island for animals, primarily farm animals. These animals are rescued from poor living conditions or kill shelters.
Families adopting rescued animals pay a nominal adoption fee.
