Emerald Coast Wildlife Refuge educates, conserves, and rehabilitates Florida's natural fauna. In 2022, the refuge retrieved 1,440 feral animals for rehabilitation and successfully released 634 back into the wild. In 2021, they retrieved 1,711 animals and released 626. Additionally, staff and volunteers conducted various activities to support the mission of the refuge.

Program areas at Emerald Coast Wildlife Refuge

The number of feral animals retrieved for rehabilitation was 1,488 in 2023, and 1,440 in 2022. Of those animals the number that were successfully rehabilitated and released to the wild were 625 in 2023, and 634 in 2022. Staff and volunteers also conducted public outreach and education programs. These programs served students in classroom settings, community and civic club members, and thousands of local residents and tourists across a five county area of Northwest Florida.
