Encyclopaedia Iranica Foundation

The Foundation supports the scholarly research and allied costs needed to produce and publish volumes of the Encyclopaedia Iranica. Since the Foundation's inception through 2017, the administration of the continued work on the Encyclopaedia Iranica was conducted with columbia university ("columbia"). In april 2019, the Foundation notified columbia that it was terminating its relationship due to various disagreements. The two organizations are currently in litigation but the Foundation continues to move forward with the enclyclopaedia Iranica and other research related to the history of iranian culture and history.

The parties reached a settlement agreement to end the litigation. The Foundation continues to move forward with the enclyclopaedia Iranica and other research and publication related to the history of iranian culture incollaboration with other academic institutions. In september 2021, the Foundation entered into a multi-year research agreement with the university of toronto to advance research in two thematic areas of iranian art: iranian women poets; and iranian cinema
