Enfoque Ixcan's mission is to ensure the people of the Ixcan region in Guatemala have access to vision and eye health care and education by maximizing local and regional resources and building capacity. In 2022, its three Eye Health Promoters conducted 503 exams, dispensed 145 pairs of glasses, and sponsored a team that provided eye examinations. Enfoque Ixcan also aided in eye surgeries through its indigenous Eye Health Promoters who made 10 trips to an eye hospital with groups of patients, caring for 96 patients, including cataract surgeries.
