Program areas at Enough Pie
AWAKENING: MOTION was a series of public art projects that aims to transform the streets of Charlestons Upper Peninsula by showcasing whats possible when communities unite to create safe, connected, dignified transportation. During the Awakening, we created 14 crosswalks, 3 bus stops, 500 traffic-calming signs, mobility street dances, videos, hosted 22 events, and had over 2,500 people experience the creative mobility initiative.
JUST RIDE is a program to offer affordable bike share ($5 for the full year) for low income residents in Charlestons Upper Peninsula. The program was kicked off in April, 2018 to serve the community with additional bike racks in areas that bike racks had never been, new sign up centers for the program, and an educational outreach including group rides, tabling at events, and more.
BUTTERFLY BOOK NOOK is a large community garden built by Enough Pie on King Street in Charleston, SC featuring native SC plants and a storytelling pavilion built by Clemson Design.Build. It was created by the neighborhood to serve as an outdoor space to gather, read, and share stories. In 2017, the garden was built, a fence was constructed, a giant community mural was painted, an archway was built, and the storytelling pavilion was built.
