Program areas at EIC
Drug education and prevention - development of programs to educate the public and Entertainment industry work force regarding drug abuse and addiction issues. Eic provided technical assistance and resource material about substance abuse: prevention, treatment and recovery as well as co-occurring mental illness. Eic produced the prism awards event, Washington showcase and a tv special about on screen depictions of substance abuse and mental illness, as well as special emphasis on science, engineering and technology, and medical breakthroughs.
Science, engineering, and technology - to educate the public and Entertainment idustry work force through depiction of various science, engineering, and technology in Entertainment productions. Eic continued to offer tailored briefings with writers on stem related script questions. Eic held it's fourth annual set awards. Eic continued assisting and maintaining the business and industy stem education coalition.
Health, education, and communication - to educate the public and Entertainment idustry work force through depiction of various health and social issues in Entertainment productions. Eic conducted local picture this forums and writer briefings on mental health; produced publications for website distribution to community journalists and stakeholders. Eic continued to provide electronic newsletters on these and other topics including skin cancer prevention. Eic held the 3rd annual swpa media and mental health awards, honoring journalists who accurately report on mental health in the media.
