Description
Environmental Learning for Kids cultivates a passion in science, leadership, and service in a diverse community of learners. It serves more than 5,000 underserved, under-represented youth (ages 5-25) each year through year-round intensive programs and in-school/after-school programs in Denver, Adams, and Arapahoe Counties. The Education Center is established and maintained by ELK for the people of the City and County of Denver and for the general public in cooperation with the Denver Parks and Recreation Department.

Program areas at Environmental Learning for Kids

ELK serves more than 5,000 underserved, under-represented youth (ages 5-25) each year through year-round intensive programs and in-school/after-school programs in Denver, Adams, and Arapahoe Counties. ELK reaches racially and socioeconomically diverse communities in Denver, Aurora, and Commerce City by working directly with local schools, teachers and community groups to provide a wide variety of outreach activities.
Under a Cooperative Agreement with the City and County of Denver, the Education Center is established and maintained by ELK for the people of the City and County of Denver and for the general public in cooperation with the Denver Parks and Recreation Department. In 2023, 3,283 people of all ages visited and utilized the Education Center.
