Prepared technical comments, testified at public hearings, and participated in meetings withFederal government officials regarding numerous initiatives that affect ETC member companies,including U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) definition of solid waste and recyclingrequirements, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) collection and disposal of controlledsubstances, Department of Homeland Security (DHS) chemical facility anti-terrorism standards, andFederal regulatory reform proposals.
Legislative initiatives with U.S. Congress, including appropriations for e-manifest development,implementing Basel Convention on transboundary movement of hazardous wastes, and disposal ofperfluoroalkyl substances from fire-fighting foam at military installations.
Worked with EPA on continued development of an electronic manifest system for tracking hazardouswaste shipments, including data security for chemicals of interest, bulk data uploads, andenhanced registration of generators and brokers.
