Prevention and educationeacf has expanded its prevention and education programs worldwide through The use of online technology. Over four million people in over 150 countries are reached each month with Epilepsy news, education and support. There were 156 in person programs given in 2020, offering accurate and timely information on Epilepsy to public groups, schools, teachers, medical professionals, employers, family members, social service professionals and more. This is accomplished through The employment of a full-time health educator. Online www.epilepsyu.com is an Epilepsy community and educational site offering support groups, courses on Epilepsy, current news articles, information, webinars, and more. Continued on schedule 0. Prevention and education continued: epilepsyu.com, and, it's social media (facebook/twitter) now reach a monthly average of over 4,000,000 people in over 150 countries worldwide. Eacf added a new "social enterprise", www,epilepsystore.com, to both expand Epilepsy awareness nationwide through The sale of Epilepsy awareness merchandise and to raise funds for direct program services.in addition, eacf remains one of The nation's leaders in The education of and The prevention of shaken baby impact syndrome (sbis). This traumatic brain injury may result in seizures or even death. Eacf's award winning video and teaching curriculum on sbis is in use all over The world from school children and child care workers to maternity hospitals and new father programs.
Client/patient services and case management: eacf directly served 779 unique individuals in 2019 with an average monthly client load of 559 persons a month with Epilepsy who cannot afford care or do not have medical insurance through it's case management and Epilepsy related medical services program by offering diagnostic services such as mris and eegs, laboratory testing, clinical visits with neurologists, and access to anti-epileptic medication(s) allowing these persons to maintain or seek their place in society, as well as remain in or enter The workforce or school thus reducing The burden on government and society. Eacf further reduces unnecessary emergency room visits by giving these individuals somewhere to go for treatment.
