Kansas city community kitchen (kcck) provides midday meals monday through friday weekly, including holidays. In 2023, kcck served 197,314 meals with 6 paid staff and 1,365 volunteers that contributed 12,600 volunteer hours.
The Nourishkc culinary training program is a 10-week, intensive, entry-level program that provides instruction in basic culinary skillls and job readiness skills as well as hands-on experience in the food service industry.
The Nourishkc food rescue program recovered 589,791 pounds of usable food in 2023 from grocery stores, restaurants, wholesalers, community gardens and other sources. Nourishkc employed one full-time food rescue driver and initiated volunteer pick-up opportunities. Volunteers provided 416 food rescue hours in 2023.
