Program areas at ERA
Legal advocacy, services, and enforcement: era provided free legal advice and counseling to 1,000+ callers. With the assistance of its "enough" pro bono network of attorneys. Era provided legal representation benefitting dozens of students in education actions. Era also provided legal representation empoyment enforcement actions benefitting thousands of workers (combatting sex discrimination and harassment), era led state and national coalitions with 500+ organizational partners to build power behind mission-aligned system reform, including the stronger California Advocates network, Equal pay today, and the stop harrassment state network (collectively women's agenda initiatives). Era supported the passage of federal laws like the pregnant workers fairness act, and nine new state laws requiring the posting of salary ranges critical to pay equity, expanded paid leave benefit to care for chosen family members, higher level paid leave benefits critical to low wage workers, job protected bereavement leave, improved fast food industry work conditions, housing protections for domestic violence survivors, protections against coercive debt practices, and support for children with parents lost to covid-19. These efforts benefit 18.5 million workers and others.
Community education, research, and engagement: era educated students and workers across the country about their legal Rights through website content, policy videos, educational events and programs, and its women's agenda digital hub. Era engaged nearly 100,000 community members across the country in mission-aligned efforts, including to outreaches to individuals on era's action team and communications with policy leaders and influencers. Era activated millions across the country to join fair pay efforts through digital events and social media campaigns that reached nearly 100 million for mom's Equal pay day, black women's Equal pay day, native women's Equal pay day, and for latina Equal pay day. Era demonstrated visible thought leadership through 500+ media hits with 37.2 million media views.
