Program areas at Equicenter
Equicenter is celebrating its nineteenth year of providing vital therapeutic equine, therapeutic horticulture programs to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, at-risk youth, veterans and their families and first responders in the greater rochester community and surrounding areas. Equicenter's programs address physical, mental, emotional, neurological and cognitive challenges, various mental health issues, and challenging life circumstance. The Equicenter serves children and adults facing many different challenges such as, autism, attention deficit disorder (add), attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder (adhd), cerebralpalsy, spina bifida, hypotonia, visual impairment, developmental delays, down syndrome, deafness, hemiplegia, spastic paralegia, multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, stroke, traumatic brain and spinal injuries, and post traumatic stress (pts). Equicenter continues to expand its range of therapeutic activities to fit the equally diverse needs of the community. Other programs include farm-to-table culinary classes, outdoor education, produce donations from the farm, seed transplant donations to community gardens across the region.
