Program areas at Esd Global
Instruction training:instructor training is a unique week-long intensive program for female-identified self-defense instructors, both aspiring and experienced, who want to develop their skills to deliver Esd training in their communities. Graduates of the training are qualified to provide a 10-hour Esd course to adults, as well as shorter formats. After completing the training, trainees participate in a 2-year mentorship program to continue to develop as Esd instructors with the support of experts in the field. Esd Global offers scholarships for program tuition, travel costs, wage replacement, and support care to allow participants to attend trainings. Education:esd Global's mission is to scale access to empowerment self-defense classes worldwide. We offer and support a variety of education programs that fulfill this mission including educational conferences, training for professional groups, and outreach to groups with specific needs such as olympic athletes, and higher education professionals.research:esd Global supports research on the effectiveness of empowerment self-defense through research conferences, developing and implementing research tools, partnerships, technical assistance with grant and funding. Topics of interest include: which is better? Comparing Esd and traditional self-defense programs; finding a common yardstick: identifying the best ways to measure Esd success; understanding the secret sauce: identifying key components of a successful Esd program; biology doesn't lie: measuring biomarkers affected by Esd training.grants and loans:esd Global's mission is to scale access to empowerment self-defense classes worldwide. We provide strategic grants, interest-free loans and in-kind resources to help individuals and organizations make Esd training available in their communities. Grants can be for necessary equipment, training, access for low income participants, and other resources that you identify are needed to offer Esd training in your community and context.
