Program areas at EVHS

Clinic - we strongly believe in spay/neuter because finding a home for one animal saves one life, but sterilizing one animal will save hundreds, if not thousands of lives. Our spay/neuter clinic is free to animals in espaola, rio arriba county, and the pueblos of ohkay owingeh, santa clara, and san ildefonso. In 2022, our team completed over 6,541 free spay/neuters and 20,795 free vaccinations.
Shelter - our mission is to improve the lives of animals in underserved communities. For over three decades, we've gone where the need is greatest. Our services are free because local animals are born into poverty. In 2022, our shelter received 3,467 animals, mostly dogs and cats, but we also take "pocket pets- like rabbits and hamsters.
