Program areas at European Initiative
In 2023, European Initiative continued its efforts to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ throughout Europe. We mobilized our staff and more than 425 volunteers, both Europeans and Americans, to 20 nations. Approximately 60,000 Europeans were reached and more than 550 made decisions for Christ. Most of the volunteers came from 19 different American church and Bible school groups whom EI mobilized to Europe. Additionally, we continued our mission to equip and inspire Europeans partner churches to evangelize and impact their nations.Beginning in January and continuing through the spring, EI staff and volunteers drove cargo vans into Ukraine, delivering tens of thousands of dollars of humanitarian aid, bringing hope to the war-torn nation. Commencing from our base in Budapest, Hungary, we focused much of support in delivering generators to help with Ukraine's compromised power grid. The generators were used to supply electricity and heat in a public school, a foster care facility, and other public use buildings. EI staff and volunteers made multiple trips to Romania, delivering several thousand dollars in food supplies to assist the indigent Roma people. Additionally, from March-April, EI staff and volunteers went into Eastern Turkey several times to serve the survivors in the earthquake zone. In all, EI gave more than $50,000 in humanitarian aid and served more than 5,000 people in the 3 nations.
