Program areas at Every Child Valued
BREAKFAST PROGRAM In September 2018, ECV launched a Breakfast Program which provides free meals each school day to young residents in Eggerts Crossing Village in grades K-12. It also provides supervised childcare prior to the school day and ensures children get on the bus safely each morning. The program is largely funded through The Princeton Area Community Foundation's All Kids Thrive initiative in an effort to combat chronic absenteeism in the Mercer County area. AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM provides tutoring, homework assistance, academic enrichment, and character-building activities to assist children in self-management. The teacher/student ratio is 1:5 and is staffed with certified teachers, mostly from Lawrence Township Public Schools, which provides a critical link between Every Child Valued families and the local school system.SUMMER ACADEMIC ENRICHMENT The Summer Academic Enrichment and Recreational Program is a six-week program which takes place following the end of the school year. The enrichment component consists of literacy, math, and social studies through hands-on projects, games, etc. The learning coach/student ratio is 1:5 with a volunteer assisting each learning coach. In the afternoon, arts and crafts, swimming, and other recreation is planned by ECV staff along with weekly STEAM workshops. A Running Club was piloted in the summer of 2023.TUTORING AND MENTORING is a program offered weekly to middle and high school students from Eggerts Crossing Village and/or students who have aged out of the after school program, at no cost to the student.
