Everybody Dance La! ("edla! "), a public benefit corporation, transforms lives and communities through the power of Dance. Edla! 's mission is to provide low-cost, high-quality, arts education to youth in under-served los angeles communities. This vital work cultivates lifelong skills of collaboration, discipline, and self-expression so the youth in the impacted communities become confident and engaged participants in their education, career, and community.founded in 1999 as the gabriella foundation by liza bercovici in memory of her 13-year-old daughter, gabriella axelrad, who loved to Dance, edla! Began its work with 35 youth in a los angeles public housing community. Today, edla! Serves more than 7,000 youth ages 4-19 at over 40 in-school and after-school locations in under-resourced communities throughout los angeles.edla! 's comprehensive Dance curriculum increases students' proficiency in the language of Dance, physical fitness, creative expression and mindfulness. Edla! Teaches many Dance forms: ballet, modern, hip-hop, breaking, jazz, tap, salsa, and mexican folklorico. Edla! Creates a safe and inclusive environment for students to explore the art of Dance while instilling a sense of community and positive self-development.
