Program areas at Evolve Houston
Evolve Houston's commercialization and infrastructure (c&i) program is responsible for all items related to increasing ev adoption and building out a reliable infrastructure to support the evs. During the year, the c&i program continued its fleet electrification study pilot program with the goal of assessing vehicles within houston-area fleets that are prime candidates for electrification (thereby reducing harmful ghg emissions), and helping organizations develop their ev adoption strategies. The program also began studying the region's charging infrastructure and enabling key players as a part of its regional infrastructure strategy for electrification (rise) to build and grow a reliable, equitable, and clean ev charging infrastructure.
Evolve Houston's marketing program is responsible for effectively publicizing Evolve Houston efforts across all programs and increasing ev awareness through experiential activities, digital efforts, and strategic partnerships.
Evolve Houston's grants program is responsible for tracking ev-related grants and providing grant information for potential applicants. During the year, the grants program provided information about federal, state, local, and private grant opportunities that help increase the number of evs on the road and, therefor, reduced greenhouse gas emissions. The program also helped public and private organizations navigate the grant application process to qualify for ev- and evse-related grants, leading to increased fleet ev adoption and public and private evse deployment.
