Program areas at Ex-Muslims of North America
Community empowerment and assistance - exmna continued to foster over 20 communities of Ex-Muslims around the united states and canada: coordinating monthly events, screening new members, and hosting and moderating online forums. This year, exmna also began a mentorship program to foster future ex-muslim leaders and founders-providing one-on-one guidance and training. In addition, exmna continued to lend emergency support, coordination, and grants to Ex-Muslims in severe distress or at-risk of abuse for their beliefs.
Developing secular resources on islam and the muslim world - in addition to reports on blasphemy and apostasy laws, exmna began an overhaul of wikiislam, creating new content standards, organization schemes, and implementing them on thousands of current articles in order to provide an objective and balanced resource on the faith.
Persecution tracker - to provide a comprehensive warehouse of global incidents of violence and persecution against religious minorities and freethinkers at the hands of states and extremists. The new tool will allow researchers, activists, and members of the public to access detailed accounts of persecution around the world-each case researched, monitored, and verified by the exmna research team.
