Program areas at FAST
Interfaith programs: Fast trained leaders from diverse Faith, racial, and socio-economic backgrounds to build relationships. Through small group meetings, Fast has fostered an interfaith and cross-racial unity.
Leadership development: Fast trained 120 residents to become leaders by organizing members of their congregations into networks or systems of relationships, that work to improve the community. When large numbers of people are needed to address a specific community problem, these trained leaders actively engage their networks to participate in community Action events. Leaders are also trained to research the root causes of community problems and work with the community to develop solutions.
Community participation: Fast involved 1200 community members in coming together to bring publicity to community problems. Clearwater and st. petersburg city council members were present and made commitments about tackling the problems of red tide and arrests for non-dangerous offenses.
