Program areas at Faith in Minnesota
Faith in Minnesota is a political home for people of Faith and values who are acting boldly and prophetically to create a new people-centered politics in Minnesota, one rooted in abundance, where everyone is in and no one is out. Training and capacity-buildingfaith in Minnesota trains and equips grassroots individual members to engage powerfully and effectively in the political arena around a shared agenda for racial and economic justice. in 2020, fimn trained and equipped hundreds of volunteer leaders to participate powerfully in the election season. Fimn executed a program for volunteers to powerfully participate in the party-led precinct caucus and endorsement process, to participate in voter engagement campaigns and to build powerful, public relationships with candidates and policy-makers. Public education and public narrativefimn worked with volunteers and community leaders to build a public platform called our Faith agenda. This public platform was the foundation for scaled public engagement and public education to build a democracy that honors everyone's dignity and to build an economy that allows all minnesotans to thrive. Fimn supported town hall meetings, public forums, community conversations for local, regional and state-wide constituencies to learn more about the Faith agenda and to engage policy-makers in supporting the fimn platform. Fimn educated its members and the wider public on the positions of candidates and encouraged candidates to support paid family leave, affordable childcare, drivers licenses for immigrants, 100% clean energy and ending islamophobia. Faith in Minnesota also was a core partner in hosting the greater than fear campaign, a strategic communications and organizing campaign involving 22 organizational partners, paid digital and social media and scaled voter engagement. The purpose of the campaign was broad public education to invite the public to choose an inclusive Minnesota. Grassroots political programsfimn built a grassroots political program to engage the voting public through door-knocking, phone-banks, text banks and on social media around a shared agenda. Through this program, fimn volunteers had over 25,000 direct conversations with members and voters, knocked on 10,000 doors, sent 90,000 texts and engaged 2 million minnesotans over social media.
