Description
Faith Indiana catalyzes faith communities and marginalized peoples to take collective action for racial and economic justice in Indiana. It develops civic leaders directly impacted by inequality, awakens the electorate, and amplifies voices of people living on the margins. Faith Indiana envisions an Indiana where everyone belongs and thrives. This year, its community leaders focused their efforts on civic leadership, pandemic response, public safety, criminal justice reform, and mental health crisis response.

Program areas at Faith Indiana

We developed Leaders. During the grant period, Faith in Indiana continued our work of equipping people who usually arent involved in civic life and helping them become powerful public leaders in the public square. We trained 1,612 people who in turn activated 14,563 people at 15 public events and 211 meetings, trainings, and canvassing events. Our supporter list grew to 26,172, and 2,579 people took action online with us. We amplified the prophetic voice. Across our constituencies, we earned 397 stories in the media, capturing the attention of an audience of 3.6 million on television, radio, and print media. We trained 50 organization executive directors, staff, and clergy in Race Class Narrative, a research-backed communications strategy meant to dampen racial polarization and bring people together by naming shared values. We changed the material conditions of peoples lives in the areas of police reform, mental health crisis response, immigrant rights, gun violence, and affordable housing for all.
