Program areas at Family Empowerment Media
Radio-based family planning social and behaviour change campaigns in Nigeria FEM's funding of formative research, content production & broadcasting, and stakeholder engagement in Nigeria encapsulates the main project that FEM is working on. Over the course of 2023, FEM completed a survey of 1,314 participants and 136 in-depth interviews. FEM also aired content in 11 new states across Nigeria.
Transmitter Innovation Project With UNITRONIC s.r.o., based in Czechia, FEM has developed transmitter technology which will enable more effective testing and evaluation of radio-based social and behaviour change campaigns. FEM and UNITRONIC have achieved a 97% replacement rate for five consecutive weeks and, with these positive results, have moved to large-scale production.
