Program areas at Family Heritage Foundation
Save america's youth, yes (s.a.y. Yes) after school care program- fhf provides free after-school tutoring in two different locations. Students in k-12 grades receive homework help, healthy meals, reacreation, and participate in stem-based activities (science, technology, engineering, and math). The program runs four days a week and is offered in person.in 2022, 92% of after school participants showed marked improvements in reading and math. 86% passed state testing in the first attempt.
Homelessness prevention and case management - rental and utilities assistance & economic recovery: fhf provides rental, mortgage, and utilities assistance to eligible households (151 people). The goal of this program is to keep individuals and families housed while they recover from medical and economic hardships. People assisted are able to retain their homes and avoid disconnection of essential utilities - electricity, gas, and water. Case management is also provided with the goal of economic recovery and stability specifically jobs search and placement, financial literacy, and assistance with mainstream benefits.
Food pantry and diaper bank: fhf provides free food and/or diapers to eligible low-income families. Fhf partners with the midwest food bank and village at the creek apartments to provide food to families facing food insecurities. Distribution takes place twice a month. Contactless deliveries are also made to families who were sick, disabled, elderly, or without transportation.
Adult literacy program: fhf provides free english language and citizenship classes to immigrants. Participants show improvement in conversational english. In 2022, 98% of our participants passed their u.s. Citizenship tests. Summer camp: fhf provides outdoors sports camp.
